Online Counseling Services
It's a known fact that people start to feel better when they can talk things out. Friends and family can provide a sounding board, but they are not objective or trained to provide effective mental health care. It may be hard not to worry about being judged, gossiped about, or given bad advice.
Who can you trust?
How can I tell if I need counseling?

If you’ve experienced:
- Anxiety and panic
- Depression and sadness
- Mood swings and irritability
- Impulsive and compulsive behavior
- Effects of trauma and/or abuse
- Specific fears and phobias
Where do I go to find what I need?

It’s not easy to know where to find the best mental health care. Who do you call? What do you say? How will you know what is best for you?
Finding a counselor with the right skills and personality for you is almost as important as education and experience. So important that we’ll talk about your needs and what I have to offer before making a decision to work together. You’ll be able to ask questions and get a sense of my therapeutic approach and interpersonal style.
With a few short questions, I’ll know if I have the right expertise to help you and come up with a preliminary plan. If there’s a better alternative, I will recommend other specific people or resources I believe will be helpful. This initial phone consultation is a service to the community and absolutely free with no obligation.

Online counseling is effective and accessible
Our sessions will be 100% online for your convenience. Research has shown that online counseling works just as well as in-person treatment – when provided by a trained practitioner. I’ve been a nationally certified online counselor since 2007 when it was new!
Individual Counseling or Therapy
I have helped many hundreds of people with a wide variety of problems, especially anxiety, depression and stress. My approach is person-centered, solution-focused, cognitive behavioral therapy. I’ll provide educational materials to help you build important skills you will use to manage difficult people and situations for the rest of your life. The more honest you are about what brings you to counseling at this time, the better I am able to choose which approach(es) will be most useful for you.
Interpersonal Issues
Often our stresses have something to do with the people in our lives, past or present. I can help you recognize problematic patterns and learn new ways to communicate, resolve conflicts, maintain healthy boundaries, and more. Beyond credentials and techniques, I genuinely care about my clients. I will:
- be 100% present, giving you my full attention
- listen to you with empathy, compassion, and respect
- comfort you if any difficult, painful feelings come up
- help you understand the “problem” and what might be causing it
- be interactive and directive with suggestions for you to try
- work closely with you on a specific plan for change
- suggest out-of-session reading or activities to maximize your gains
- support, encourage, and motivate you every time we meet
If you’ve read this far, I believe you have the courage to pick up the phone and call me. What do you have to lose?
